Berkswich Methodist Church

Visitors

These are common questions asked by people visiting our church for the first time.  If your query isn't covered here please don't hestitate to contact us.

Who are we?
Berkswich Methodist Church is situated in a large community to the south of Stafford.  At the centre of the community is Walton High School with over 1500 pupils, and there are six primary schools of varying ages and characters.  The community is therefore shaped by the families, with all age groups being well represented.

What goes on on a Sunday morning?
We meet for worship each Sunday morning at 10.00 and the service generally lasts an hour. Our worship is a mix of modern and traditional.  On most Sundays all ages meet together in church first for a short period of all age worship. After about 15 minutes those children and young people that would like to leave do so for their own separate acitvities.
On the first Sunday of the month all ages stay in church together for a time of family worship.

What other activities take place at Berkswich?
The church provides a venue for all the various groups to meet, from Toddlers, through to Youth Clubs and uniformed organisations, to groups for more mature individuals.

Are there any other services apart from Sunday morning?
There is a more reflective evening service at 6.30pm each Sunday evening.

Once a month, young people from around the other Methodist churches in Stafford meet at Berkswich Methodist Church for “Vine”, a contemporary worship event led by the young people themselves with support from the Circuit Youth Worker.

Also on the first Sunday of each month there is an 8.30am Communion service. This is followed by breakfast if you would like to stay.

On the first Sunday in the evening at 8pm there is Vineyard, which provides a more relaxed and informal place to worship.  An opportunity to relax, chat and explore your relationship with God.

Car parking
We have a car park immediately in front of the church.  People do tend to double park on a Sunday morning, so please feel free to do so if you are staying for the service.

Dress code
We have no particular dress code, believing that God accepts us as we are. Please feel free to wear whatever feels comfortable to you.

What time should I arrive?
Our services usually start on time.  Most people start arriving 15 mins before the start of the service.  There are always some late arrivers, so please feel free to come in even if the service has started.  There will be a steward on the door to help you if you need it.
